Had a converter go bad on our past Monte while down in Florida about three years ago and they covered it with no problem minus the deductible, of course, but good luck over all. Also had the front landing gear replaced and they covered it also, minus deductible there also. Saved me a bunch!

I bought the Good Sam Extended Warranty plan when I first got the Monty. I bought the basic plan and had a problem with the axle hangers and springs. I had a mobile RV guy come out to where I was and he gave me the rundown. I contacted GS ESP and they told me it wasn't covered because it "wasn't part of the suspension". (??????????) No amount of logic could convince them otherwise. She told me if I "upgraded" my coverage to the "Gold" level, it would cover the problem. So I upgraded, then they told me it wouldn't cover my existing problem because it was pre-existing. I paid the $400 bucks and went about my business. I kept the ESP and have used it without problems since that incident. I haven't found anything cheaper or I'd probably go with it. I just got the new bill and it went up by $40 a year. I'm now paying right at $820 for coverage that includes all electronics, slide outs, wheels and tires and all the appliances.

Just used mine. Black tank valve replaced. The dealer took care of everything, contacting them etc. All i had to do is pay the deductible.
So far so good.

Search around the forum, as this and questions about extended warranties get asked very frequently and there must be a few hundred posts about the pluses and minuses. Some folks like Rich and Helen, who happen to have abysmal luck with their Monty, swear by them, and with good reason. Others, like myself keep the money. I know that over the years I've saved over $30K by not buying extended car warranties.

we have always had extended warranties on our Montana's both of them. We also have the Ford ESP on both our Ford trucks. We now have the Good Sam's extended warranty and used it to replace two leaking holding tanks last summer with out a problem. It cost us 925.00 for a two year warranty and the bill for the tanks was 740.00. we have another two leaking tanks now and will use the warranty for replacement...again. For us it as paying a affordable yearly premium to protect against a large failure expense that we can not afford. Same as any Insurance policy.

We have had two different EW companies and had no problem with either as long as we complied with the reporting requirements.
Since I can repair nothing but the most simplest of problems the EW is of great value to us.
We take the RV to the dealer or repair facility they determine the problem and cost call the EW company as dealers and repair facilities know how to deal with the companies. When done the dealer calls us we pay the deductible and are on our way.
We have a appointment May 5 with our dealer to deal with our two leaking tanks. We will drop it off go home and they will call us when it is done. For those who have only minor or minimal problems or can do the repairers themselves there is no need for a EW.
With many of the EW companies if you do not use the service you get the money back. When we got the new Montana we still had one year left on the EW we had and we got refund of one year premium. Understand the EW company had paid out thousandes of $$ in claims but still refunded the unused portion of the premium. Just our choice...

We have always had them, whether through the dealer or the current one through Good Sam. $2500 for six years coverage ( and I did not hesitate, particularly when I consider all that is on the new rig (Level Up, three televisions, dishwasher, two air conditioners, double fridge, washer, dryer, etc., etc.). The peace of mind knowing that it something does go wrong, it will cost me a small deductible in comparison to the repair cost is well worth a little over $400 a year. As always, not a recommendation or endorsement, just relating what and why.

We look at is as affordable premium to protect against a high dollar loss. Same as our home and auto Insurance. It is a little known fact that you can get all or a large part of the EW premium back if you do not use it.Do the homework brfore purchase.

Folks, it is NOT a extended warranty.............
You are buying a Service Contract that covers certain listed parts.
It is a contract, read what is covered and what is not. Like freight for the new part you need, do you need to prove you did the required preventive maintenance or had the required inspection done.
It is like insurance for some, and the small monthly payment fits them better than one large expense for a problem.
I have never bought a Service Contract. I do have home owners insurance and car/truck/rv insurance.

Jim is exactly right. It is a SERVICE CONTRACT mine says so on the contract. I think the term Extended warranty is a marketing tool to miss lead those consumers who do not ask questions or do the homework.
