Propane Stove Problems
The regulator on the passenger side started to leak and my oven flame became high and also yellow and red flame. I replaced the regulator and hose and the same problem existed. Is there a second regulator on the drivers side of the fifth wheel and is it possible that it is the problem even though I do not smell any gas nor does it appear to leak. The oven flame is quite high along with the yellow and red flame and the four burners are running high with the orange and red flame. This is on a 2018 Montana High Country. Any assistance would be appreciated as I am having difficulty in finding a mobile tech that will tackle propane

The switch over valve on the drivers side is also a regulator and on our 2017 it went bad after only two years.

I also had to replace the red one on drivers side. I think it was about 5 years old.

Isn't the regulator on the passenger side just a high pressure reducer and not a full regulator? Sorry for terminology but propane is not my strong suit.
I thought that the passenger side was just to reduce the full pressure in event of a leak but not a regular regulator with about 11" water column which is on the driver's side. Did you replace with the correct regulator?

I believe each tank has a regulator.

I just went out and checked. I have a small red high pressure regulator on the passenger (door) side and a regulator/auto change over on the driver's (ODS) side. They are different. The door side red one reduces the pressure since the tank on that side is farther away and is required for safety. It does not regulate the gas for use by appliances. That function is done by the auto change over regulator on the ODS side.

Propane Problems
Thanks to all for your responses. I am going to change the drivers side regulator as changing the red regulator did not correct the problem even though it was leaking. I will report on my findings.

Vic, you could get the regulator tested but in all likelihood you'll be cheaper just replacing it.
From what I've read, many have had good luck with the excelsior brand vs the fairview cheaper ones that Keystone installs.

The manual for the propane auto switching valve/regulator is in the files section.
Reading it may shed some light on this problem

I had a similar problem and it ended up being the valve on the gas bottle. Have you tried the stove using your other propane tank?

Most 'in the know' full timers buy a Marshall switch over valve for the day the POS original needs to be replaced. The passenger side is seldom the problem, but again I would get a Marshall. Here is link to amazon .ca, change to .com if in the USA https://amz.run/67Ou

Propane Stove Problems
My stove problem started after having one of the tanks filled with propane. Shortly after the regulator on the non door side started to spit out propane I changed the regulators with no result. I also changed the double regulator on the driver side with no change. I finally got a mobile propane repair person to look at the system and he ran the stove and furnace for about 15 minutes on high and the system improved. It was his opinion that I had gotten a bad batch of propane as the orange flame became less and less when we emptied the tank. He stated the system would return to burning completely blue once the bad propane had fully run through the system. The service man called it dry propane which I have never heard nor can I find any information on it. I will not be using the trailer until January and hope that his information is correct.
Thanks to all for your help
