Heater hose in front compartment.

I have a question, I have a hose coming from my heater that just drops down towards the water tanks, is it supposed to go there or is it supposed to hook to the vent that goes to the front compartment?
It is on a 3701 LK
Thanks Charlie

It’s to keep the tanks from freezing.

It also helps keep fresh water lines from freezing.
