I'm looking to add support to suspension for my 2014 GMC 2500 HD Denali Like others I'm at capacity for my truck and 5 th wheel
Anyone have any experience with SumoSprings, a urethane suspension system ? And or comments on air bag systems ?? I shud have a 3500 but don't so trying to find solution We are very careful to not overload as I cross scales frequently

Thanks for any input

I have the Timbren overloads on mine and they work great, check them out at "timbren.com." Once installed, they are trouble free and do the job.If I read your post correctly, these will support your suspension and eliminate the sag.

I have firerstone air bags to make sure everything is level. However you will find that you are limited in weight by your tires!

NOTHING you put on aftermarket will increase your total towing capacity!!! There are some things you can do to help alleviate rear sag and make for a better ride, but your towing capacity will remain the same, as stated on the label on your drivers door jamb.

I did have a 2016 2500HD Duramax prior to my current truck. On that I put 1 ton suspension springs on it,didnt change anything else, and it helped with the "tilted headlights" issue.

What coach are you pulling with your truck?

True statement! I have Air Lift bags with onboard air just to level and improve ride. They do just that for me but WILL NOT increase truck's carrying capacity.

No need here for the weight police, the OP states he is careful not to overload. The weight police can go back to riding their high horse!
Now to the original question... I have the air lift bags on my truck and feel minumium difference between the before and after ride. I think they do help on bridges and sudden dips. I'm sure others have a more sensitive derrière than I, but after nearly 40 years of bouncing around Tulsa's crappy roads in lightly loaded semi's, any pickup seems smooth to me 😀 I think the advantage of bags over timbren's is in their adjustability, while the timbren's advantages are cost and ease of maintenance.
By the way the general consensus in the RV world is that it's not necessary to stop at weigh stations. Although that's a subject that's debatable and a whole nother can of worms!

I had Firestone air bags before. They were like riding on stones alright. I considered the sumosprings. TL magazine did a poor story on them and they didn't respond to my further questioning about them. My question was will they increase ride height of a loaded truck. I asked the manufacturer the same and they don't have a clue either. All they offered was money back if not satisfied. I'm trying to level a 3500, good luck with a 2500.

weight police need to relax on this one. he was JUST asking about additional support not weight issues.
I always liked my air bags.

I recently installed a set of Air Lift bags on my 2015 F250 SD 4X4. The air bags leveled out my trailer when I’m towing and made for a more comfortable ride. I’m very happy with the results.

Thank you all for the input Yes, I understand it doesn't change capacity , but wanting to "drop the headlights" back to normal Lol

I'm pulling a 3701LK , and yes, capacity is tight , but I'm careful. I think I'm gonna give the Timbren a shot and see how it works

Thanks again for all the input I love this forum and all it's members

From what I've seen, timbrens replace the normal bump stock on your axle / suspension. They are more like overloads than leveling.

Just went through same decision. If you will be safe under 17k towing, it’s a great time to buy a 3500. Obviously if you can swing it. Start searching on car gurus for the model year you want and you might score a deal- we did.

Got my Timbren at www.etrailer.com for my 2004 Chevy 2500HD. The rear end road high unloaded. Had the Timbren added when the hitch was installed and we picked up the trailer at the dealer. When we hooked up the HC318RE, it was perfectly level. I understand the Timbren have "progressive" increasing support, which means it might not bottom out to the "hard" stop, leaving some cushion for a better ride. It gave my truck a nice ride. I highly recommend them.

Agree with most posters - nothing can be done to increase the GVWR of your truck. I have Firestone airbags to keep my truck level with the Monty attached. The GVWR of your truck is based on how much weight can your tires safely support, how strong is your drive train and what can your brakes handle. That was all set on the factory floor when your truck was built.

My trailer GVWR is 200 lbs over my truck's GVRW but I don't have washer/dryer or generator and I watch my load to stay save.
