Those with Goodyear 614G's: attention

Great info here. I had one of my vehicles in for tires and was talking to a different guy there about the G614's. He told me not to worry about them that they have about an inch thick on under the tread and the edges of the tread. He said they are built to retread them so there is enough rubber UNDER the tread to house a whole another set of treads. He also said run them at 110 lbs.

I cut a G614 when the curb side spring broke. You can see by the picture that these tires have a lot of rubber at that part of the tread and the cut didn’t go to the steel cord.



I don't think your wear is abnormal.

I am still using this tire and have now put about 4,000 miles on it without a problem.
