Brenda and I left Palm Harbor thursday and are at a new RV Park being developed at Okalawa Lake just north of Salt Springs in Putnam County. We had tremendous rain and wind. My weather alert radio kept us informed of the numerous warnings all night. I had the map out checking on locations and the TV on. I planned on taking refuge in the bath house which is made of concrete block if we looked like we were in the path of any of the storms.
We were lucky that the storms were north and south of us. The timing of these storms makes having an weather alert radio a must for RV'ers and others at night.

For those of you who are trying to get calls to Rob & Julia, or anyone in the Villages area. It is almost impossible to get calls into the area due to downed lines and damage. However our contact with friends in the Villages was made by calling on cell phones. Cell towers seem to be working though you may have to leave voice mail for call back.

Today I am not having trouble getting phone calls through. We were able to speak to both my parents and Dick's last night.

I left a message for Rob & Julia on his voice mail and hopefully one of us here on MOC will hear from them soon.

First thing I did on the computer today was to check on MOC members in FL. So glad to hear most are safe and sound. My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the storms. Sue C

Appears that all of our MOC and FAA friends in The Florida tornado area are Ok. Heard from the last of our FAA friends in the villages area this evening. The storms missed them by 2 to 4 miles which is a long way for a tornado. They say the Tornado was a bad one but not of the strength of the May 99 tornado that many of us FAA folks rode out in Oklahoma City. Tornado's are hard on Mobile homes and trailer parks..not to mention that it occured at night..

We are happy to hear all of our MOC family friends are safe at this time. We all need to include in our prayers for those who are suffering.
