US decal map

My wife and I are having a discussion on the "Rules" we are going to use for population our US decal map. We have two thoughts at this point. for a state to qualify either we can say that we have to actually camp for a night in that state for it to go up on the map or that we just have to pass though that state.

We are curious at to what some of you use as your guidelines for your US map...

If you were there, it counts. Its where you've been, not slept. Just my $.02.

That's what we use as well. Passing through counts as long as we are pulling the Monte when we pass through.

If we put one wheel of the truck or camper into a state that we have not been to, it gets another sticker added.

Sorry, our Map is full and we've at least spent the night in each state.

The rule is what you want it to be. I can say I have been to 48 of the 50 states (not towing) but I can't say I have spent the night in all 48. And a few of those I have barely been across a corner of the state even if I did spend the night there. But I can still say I have set foot in those 48.

I have personally been in all 50 state but not my wife. This has to do with the trailer... We are not counting the states we have been to with our old trailer just where we have been with the Montana....

We, as Canadians, found some of the U.S. states so small that unless you can count it if the Monte found pavement in it, we hopscotched across some of the U.S., and some states were just scenery, not overnight stops. Maybe the rule should be "we met another RV (couple/owner/traveler) in state X" ? Just a thought.

Cheater. Unless your sticker is on the truck.

I have two maps. One for states we have actually camped in and one for states we’ve traveled through. The goal is to eventually have both maps match. Six states to go.

Our rule was that we had to spend the night. Took some creative planning to get in those small NE states in on one trip to Maine after the Rally last year but filled in all 48. Probably won't take the Monte to Alaska.

It's really up to you. We don't add a sticker unless we spend the night in a state.

Since there isn't a hard and fast rule, is the consensus the map is for the current RV or for you and your RV lifetime?

Well since the map is adhered to your RV and cannot be removed it should be just for that RV

It is for our current 5th wheel only. There would only be 3 states difference any ways one of which I do not care if I go back to again....

We go by the rule that we have to spend the night in the 5th wheel in the state. Not drive through. But your choice on your rules.

You guys are really messing me up. I had my wife convinced that you only got a sticker if you did the wild thing in that state. Bummer!

4 corners

I ran my truck pulling the Montana through the desert around the famous four corners monument. I bagged Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah all in one swoop! Just kidding....
