Mattress Replacement
Just got my replacement mattress from Keystone. No hassles whatsoever, they know they're installing junk.
I'm still in favor of being able to have an option of "no mattress" when ordering a new RV and using those funds towards a good quality mattress. As some have said there is no way for them to pick a mattress that fits everyone, so . . . why not let the owner save a few bucks and leave more space in the landfills by not having to dispose of something worthless. Just a thought.
Jerry
Oh, replacement was identical to original - will be saving up to buy a good quality replacement - look out landfill!

We put a four inch memory foam mattress topper on ours when new, and have never looked back and regretted it. It even influenced us to put a four inch memory foam mattress topper on our bed at the stick house. It is an option that may save some a little green!!

Bingo, where'd you get the topper? Is it RV specific or just a reg 'ol foam topper.

When we ordered our 06 3400 we did not want the mattress because after 4 rv's we knew it would be junk. They offered us 50.00 credit. We took the mattress and ordered a Americana Bear bed replacement. We donated the OEM mattress to a local charity and they were glad to get it.

Jerry, I did as Bingo did. We bought ours at Costco and have had it three years and really enjoy the combination. If you do get one, it takes about 24 hours for it to expand to the fullest size.....

We first used a high quality "egg carton" foam topper - purchased from a local upholstery shop - deep pockets and high quality closed cell dense foam.
However, soon as memory foam hit the market, we went that route - stick house and RV - haven't regretted it either.
Someday would like to try the "sleep number" mattress - hear they are great also.

I'm gonna try the topper. If not satisfied then it's either a bear like Rich says or sleep number. I hope I like the topper - major bux for the other options. Major to me anyway. Rich as you know I had zero experience with RV's so I didn't have enough knowledge to ask for a credit for the mattress when I ordered the RV. Caveat emptor.

Jerry,
We put the memory foam topper on both the Monty and stick house mattress. Vickie has arthritis in her shoulders and can't lay on her right side for very long. With the topper, she can sleep on her right side all night without discomfort on either mattress. We got ours at Overstock.com. You need at least 3 inches and 4 pound density.

We added the 4" topper to our mattress (from Wal-Mart) then said what the heck, throwed the mattress of the couch hide-a-bed away and put the memory foam mattress there, had to cut it down. We then went down and picked up a Sealy 16" pillow top with memory foam. Have not regretted that and caught it on sale for only 675.00. A standard Queen fits the 3400RL. Our son appreciates the memory foam on the couch when he visits. Now have the best of both worlds. We also added an aero-bed blow up mattress under the foam for extra comfort. When deflated it doesn't interfere with the couch at all.
By the way, the Sealy is much more comfortable than the standard mattress with a topper was.

Jerry,
Both of ours are the Wally World specials. We had a two inch in the bumper pull previously, but we went with with the four inch king size topper. The two inch one is now used byt he girls on the sofa bed.
