Upholstery repair

Hi all, we need some guidance in repairing our sofa cushions that have started peeling the hi grade 😂😂 material! It's a 2014 38' Montana. Has anyone done any repairs? Pictures enclosed. Thanks in advance for your help! Alan

This is an issue that has long haunted many an RV owner. No fix other than replace the furniture as this faux leather only gets worse with time. John

Lots of threads about this problem. There is no fix except replacement or reupholstery. The peeling will just get worse. I'm amazed it's not worse in a 2014 model.

Our 2016 #3820FK sofa, love seat and dinette cushion upholstery just started peeling/splitting.
Anyone have a suggestion on:
1) who or where to purchase a new sofa and love seat ?
2) Can we purchase new dinette cushions or do we just have to get ours reupholstered ?

Thanks for any information.

The faux leather upholstery has been of issue for several years on many brands of RV's. I've never heard of a cure other than replace the furniture ... my personal experience on getting this stuff reupholstered proved just too pricey. Say you get the seats reupholstered ... then a month later the backs start to peel ... where do you stop? I've had good luck with RecPro as to replacement RV furniture. Others on the MOC have just bought stick house furniture as long as it fit thru the RV door and didn't interfere with the slides.

On edit: I have seen a couple of other RV websites where the wife was a seamstress and made her own covers to her divan and theater seats, but boy howdy that must have been determination and patience.

Actually that phrase stems back to the 1960s for me. My dad used it lot when I was little.

I don't think I had heard it previous to Longmire (my favorite series in the last 10 years!)

We just bought 2 Lazy Boy recliners to replace our fabric covered sofa-sleeper. Delivery in April. While Monty is in the shop for maintenance, I will get the shop crew to remove the sofa--also going to replace the 17 year old carpet! Nothing like keeping the 2006 rig looking brand new at reduced prices. Lazy-boy has a sale going on--get it if you need great furniture. The recliners have handles on the left and right so they are being built for us--also selected the fabric!

Have a small tear in one of our recliners. Is there a product similar to car.upholstery repair for our recliners please?

The comments above say it all. There are repair kits you can buy, just search on line, they do not last.

Something like this might work until a suitable replacement for the furniture is found. Usually, the lack of quality of the RV furniture doesn't make it worth re-doing the upholstery worth it. https://www.amazon.com/ZHANGQIANG-Le.../dp/B09811FZ48
