Driving Tour Silverton & Ouray Colorado

For those that want to join us, Alta and I will be leading a driving tour to Silverton and Ouray on Monday 6/13. See post 11 on this thread https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...ad.php?t=86024

This tour will cover the same route as the train, so you will get to see the same country from the comfort of your pick-up. We will stop at several points of interest: old mining structures. ore tram at Arrastra Gulch, Silverton shops, etc. If we time it correctly, we will be able to see the train. We will pack a lunch as eating places in Silverton and Ouray are unpredictable.

We will depart at 8am to try and see the train at Hermosa at 9:30. Total distance will be about 225 miles. With stops, we will plan on all day. Once we get to Ouray, we can return the same way we came or go through Telluride; same distance.

Car pooling would be a good idea to reduce the number of vehicles.

Respond here if you would like to go; that will give us a rough idea on numbers.

Sounds like fun! Count us in.

Carl, Yes, the sun will be up.
It could be up an hour earlier than in Cali.

Karen, Les, Rylie & Kirby are in - the fur babies need to go as the puppy could not be left alone that long.
