Is this unique or have others had this?

The floor vacuum inlet where you can sweep stuff in the hole has quit working unless you lift the cover up with your hand. I think the microswitch may have come loose. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what worked to fix it.

We have to physically open ours to use it. Always have, I thought that was how they worked!

Guess I didn't explain it well. It doesn't come on when you lift the cover, you have to push the cover up in the middle, after the cover is open, to get the vacuum to come on.

Ok, no ours comes on as soon as it gets moved. You’re right, it’s got to be a micro-switch.
