Progressive EMS
I am installing a Progressive Ems in my new 2017 3790RD. There is a time delay jumper that changes the time delay from 15 seconds to 136 seconds. The instructions say you choose which to use based on the information from your air conditioner manufacturer. I have the Quiet Cool air conditioner. I want through all the manuals I received and I did not receive a manual for the air conditioners. Does anyone know which setting I should be using with the Quiet Cool system?

Jimmy-- I think he is talking about the setting for the Progressive EMS not the A/C itself. I have no idea or I'd give you an answer. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with the answer.

The longer time delay is to save the compressor in case of a short power interruption and let the system have time to equialize before the compressor can come on again. Most modern AC units incorproate an internal time delay for this reason. Even so, if it was me, I'd go for the longer delay on the Progressive just to have the backup.

The delay is to let the head pressure in the AC compressor to equalize before the AC trys to start. Turn on your AC's and see if the delay is built into the units themselves. If it is, you don't need the delay in the EMS. My AC's have it so I set the EMS for no delay. Hope this helps.

I also set mine up this way. You know....the old belt AND suspenders mentality.

My A/C manual stated that the a/c has a built in delay so didn't need the extra time delay on my Progressive.

My PT 50 has a 45 second delay but we never have the A/ C's set to on when we first power up.

My Progressive EMS 50 seems to work fine on its factory settings. Install was simple and it is the best system I have had especially with the remote readout under the main breaker panel!
