Wireless Backup Cameras

I have been thinking of getting a wireless backup camera to put on the back of the 5th wheeler. Tadibrothers seems to have decent products but does anyone have any recommendations? And, anyone with experience using a wireless setup and experiencing any transmission/reception problems related to the signal passing through a 35 foot long trailer to the receiver/monitor?

Any input would be helpful.

I have the same Tadi Bros unit on our 35' and also would say fair. I had to move the receiver to the back window to get better signal. I am going to pull a hard wire from the back when I get back to Quartzste in Jan.

We use the Voyager wireless system on our 3850FL pulling with a crew cab dually, which far exceeds the 35 feet you mentioned. The only time we experience signal loss is for a couple of seconds that is associated with some underpasses and overpasses. Have no clue as to why it happens since it is not every underpass/overpass that does it. I have never experienced a problem with signal strength to date and the system is left on continuously to provide a "rear-view" mirror when traveling. The unit lists for around $600 with one camera, and is equipped with infra-red night view, color, and sound.

I would highly recommend Tadibrothers. I have called them twice to get a longer cable and better sending and receiving units for the system I got from them. Both times they were sent 'No Charge and thank you for doing business with us'.

We have a Voyager and have no problems with it, now that Dennis Ward soldered the plug wire.

Thanks for all of your input and ideas. I settled on the Voyager Wireless system (WVOS511) and the wife bought one for me for a Christmas present. I can't open the box for another week!

I just don't understand having to wait to open a Christmas gift. I open mine anytime I want. The hard part is getting it rewrapped the way she had it wrapped. Just never looks the same.

Our Voyager is hardwired to an antenna mounted on the nose of our trailer. That cuts the distance of the wireless connection to maybe 12 feet.

We have a 2015 3440RL Montana. When we purchased our rig the installed backup camera wasn't working so the dealership ordered us a new camera and handed it to us when we picked up the unit. We can't figure out how to get power to the camera that is mounted on the rear of the 5th wheel. Help.

The unit is a Furrion brand.

Test the wire that the broken camera is hooked to, chances are it's still hot if it was the camera itself that was haywire.
