Hydraulic Brake Line Routing

Planning on installing disc brakes on my 2012 3750FL. Any ideas on how to route the brake line? I want to route it under the belly liner so it has some protection, but I'm not sure how to remove the liner. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

The belly blanket is held in place with screws on ours.

Hi

I wouldn’t recommend putting the brake line under the belly lining. When brake fluid leaks it really spreads out and it also removes paint. The only good thing about brake fluid it does mix with water like liquid soap.

You can take a look at this video if you wish to pick out a few pointers. It's an SOB deal, but frames and axles are kinda sorta common to your project.

All the forums and reviews I've read point to the Kodiak brakes being the best. I even found a series of youtube installation videos. etrailer has a set, but once I save up enough, I'm going with amazon.com because they come with bearings.

I'm also going to go with the CTS Hydrastar actuator because it's compatible with my Ford OEM brake controller.

If anyone has any issues with these, please let me know. I'd like to have as many pros and cons as possible.

The reason I'm asking about routing is I have this fear of the lines getting damaged by a rock or something and losing the brakes when I need them.

Hi

If this is your worry don’t crawl under your TV or you will never drive again. LOL

I ran mine out of the front battery compartment under the propane bottle on the left side along the frame to the front axle. Held in in with brake line clips. The axle layout is in this post with the link to the pics I uploaded. If you have any questions be sure to PM me. http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ms=disk,brakes
