washer dryer install
We're considering a Splendide combo (vented)for our 3665 and would like to know if other owners have installed it themselves and encountered any problems with installation(like where the sidewall "studs" are located). I know these units are hefty so is it better to pay for installation? We're seriously considering fulltiming in the next year and a washer/dryer will be a must have for us. We're also considering a new model with a front bath to get the laundry out of the bedroom. And speaking of front baths, we don't think the main floor 1/2 bath is necessary for us. It would make a perfect "laundry room"/ storage/ coat room, but so far we haven't seen a W/D option instead of bathroom. We're looking at SOB (as well as the Montana without the pantry option) that you can opt for walk in pantry/storage instead of the 1/2 bath. But right now, the original question is to have the W/D installed or DIY, and, besides losing a couple shelves of storage, for fulltime use, is it very inconvenient for having the laundry in the bedroom?

We have a 3665 with the combo in the bedroom and love it. The dealer installed it but I removed it to install a drain pan under it. I had a local sheet metal guy fabricate a pan with a drain that I attached a hose to and ran in out by the front leg. If you go out in the morning when there is dew on the trailer, you can see the ribs in the walls. Then, you can see where to install the vent.

As for a new model the 3720 or 3721 is a lovely plan with the washer/dryer in the hallway to the bedroom. In our 3610 the pantry is in the kitchen next to the fridge and we have the combo in there and we are very happy having it so handy.

We like the looks of the 3721 also, on paper. Would like to see one in person. I've seen SOB with a very similar floorplan as the 3720/3721 except it has a window on each side of the bed, which is my preference. We're in Florida until spring so we'll be collecting info until we get home. We're pretty happy with the comfort of our present rig so we may just stay with it but it never hurts to look around. Well,,,, maybe it does hurt, in the wallet sometimes!

I had ours installed by a dealer. Not enough room to work there for me and my bad back.

We have the 3725RL which is the previous version of the 3720/3721. We love having the laundry in the hallway. We had the separate side-by-side unit washer & dryer installed when we bought our Montana. The hallway install is nice because you don't loose any closet space with them and the separate units allow you to have a load drying while another load is washing.
