Sticky valves leads to improvements...
We had a black tank valve that wouldn't close, meaning all the liquid would evacuate while leaving the solids...not a good situation. I think it was due to some tissue along with the fact that after 3 years, I was having difficulty closing the valves with the cables - they were getting harder and harder to close, both black and gray, and I'm a pretty big guy!
I replaced both the black and gray valves with new ones and added the Auto-Drain mechanisms so I can operate them with a push of a switch. Some of you may recall I put one in for the galley tank over 3 years ago.

Ozz,
Based on your tank repair, I put a Fernco coupler in between the Y of the valves and the common output for the black and gray tanks. Thanks for the idea!

Yo Dawg ... guess Ozz and I will have to kick it up a notch to run with your caliber of craftsmanship! Amazing what one can do if they just "do it"!

That is a great modification! Where did you get the parts? What is the other modification you did 'frenco coupler'? We are thinking of doing some modifications to the system during the winter but haven't decided exactly what we want to do.
Great job!

We got them from Dyers, who had the best price by far. The Fernco coupler is a flexible rubber coupler to join ABS pipe. Since my outlets from the tanks are glued to a Y, I cut the discharge pipe as it was leaving the underbelly so that I could get to the valves and also to provide some strain relief as suggested by Ozz.
