is there an alarm for inside temp on the market?

hi everyone, we're hoping to hit the road in the spring, NY to CA, up th coast and a couple of zig zags, then back. anyway, we have two boston terriers traveling along, that will have to be left inside here and there, while we go out exploring. i was wondering if anyone knows of some sort of A/C alarm system, that can send a signal to your cell phone, should the temp rise above a certain degree. i just would't feel safe leaving them in there for hours, not knowing if the A/C could have failed. any ideas?

We just set the AC thermostat for 80 degrees. If the temp gets to 80, the AC turns on.

"We just set the AC thermostat for 80 degrees. If the temp gets to 80, the AC turns on."

the falacy with this is, that power can go out in the campground, or beyond. have had MANY experiences with this, sometimes the campground has a weak breaker, sometimes a palm tree will take out the lines (ohhhh, ya, that was TX! HAHA)

one method that has worked, is give trailer keys to a friend you trust in the campground. friend stays home while you are away, trade favors.

one year, the gals wanted to go on a trip, the boys stayed home and dog sat (was an all day trip), next time the gals stayed home. dogs were well taken care of.

some campgrounds have been known to have dog sitters, they will take dogs out "X" times a day for a fee, and then, of course, would be available if power went out to open doors or windows or do whatever necessary to keep the fur kids comfy.

I like Carol's idea for peace of mind. Very low-tech, too. Depends on your location and comfort level, however.
