Broken String on Day/Night Shade

We just arrived home from a 2 week trip and the cord on the one shade on the side by the door of our 2955RL 2006 Montana broke (the narrow window). I know I read on the forum some time ago about restringing these shades. Does anyone know where I could find that info? I thought I had saved it, but cannot find it. Thanks. Silverbird

We just restrung ours with no diagram. Just look at how the thing goes together and restring it the same way. It's not hard, just confusing the first time you look at it.

You really need special cord to string it with. Most common cord will ravel after passing through the blind holes a lot. I received a whole bunch of the cord from the people who make the blinds. On the bottom of the blind there should be the name of the manufacturer with a phone no. I called them and they promptly sent me the needed cord. After restringing, I have had no trouble with any additional breakage. Of course, I must admit I've had to restring the large back window blind and three of the living room slide blinds. But I don't think that's bad for having lived in the rig for over seven years full time. Those blinds are up and down all the time.

Thank you to all that replied with "help" for restringing the day/night shades. I also printed off some info from www.rversonline.org/DayNight.html and will be trying the process when I get a chance.

I measured and replaced every single day/night shade in the unit with Bali MicroBlinds.

Here is a web site to purchase string. They will send samples that you select. Has instructions for re-stringing. You may have to copy & paste the link.
