Water Pump Noise-Warranty Issue ?

I must have too much time to read and think these days. I pulled out the info that comes with the new Monty, specifically the SHURflo water pump material.

What I found is very interesting. In the Plumbing section it states what SHURflo recommends for installation of the pump it is even close to what is in my 2005 2955.

They recommend NOT having the rigid plastic pipe to the pump. (The rigid plastic pipe is directly connected to the pump.) This can cause vibration transmitted throughout the plumbing that could cause cracks or loosen connection. These are their words. NO KIDDING! So this is why I have purchased the flexible silencer kit.

Do you think this could be a potential warranty issue with Keystone?

I know the traditional noise from the pump has been documented but has anyone tried to have it changed under warranty?

I love our Monty, but these little things are starting to bug me.

I replaced the hard plumbing that was to the pump with a flexable tubing. One morning heard a funny pop and than water on kitchen floor. Found out that the furnace heat duct had come lose and was heating that flex hose and not the coach. The heat allowed the flex hose to come off. Thanks to DHenry for the repair job on the ducting. Now have the kit. I guess Keystone thinks we have to have something to do everyday otherwise retirement would be boring.

RKassl,

We replaced our old pump with one of the quieter ones. They are definitely quieter but there is still a bit of noise. I suspect if we really wanted to work at it we could reduce it a bit further.

You can try working with your dealer to reduce the noise.... who knows they might work out something for you. As long as the pump is producing water, however, I'd expect they'd just try to sell you another pump.

If you haven't already tried the "search" feature you might try that. I seem to remember several threads on this issue.

Hope you can get it the way you want.

Had the same problem on my 2005 2955. Notified the dealer where I bought it and they replaced the pump and intalled a flex line on the outlet side of the pump FREE. Water pump purrs like a cat.
