When you say stop and start do you mean they all stop or that one stops and another moves?
If it is one stops and another moves it is because all the slides are on the same hydraulic pump and system. With that said the lightest or easiest slide to move will move first and then the next. When a slide builds some resistance and becomes harder to move then another slide moves and you get the shift of movement.
If they all stop and then one starts a few seconds later I would feel the reset breaker for the hydraulic motor is tripping and resetting.
I hope this helps. If not clear please ask more questions.
Cheers,
