LED Tailights (ouch)
Finally found LED tailight retrofits for these vintage chevy tailights on the Montana -
Cheby lights
Too pricey for me - but they are finally available. It looks like a nice product. These do not replace lenses or housings, rather they install behind the lens and use the existing bulb socket.

I found at least three other 4" round led tail/stop/turn lights for from $16 to $30 each. The lights on my unit are sealed. They can't be opened to replace the bulb. The incandescent replacement light runs about $7 each.

One thing to double check before you convert to LED is that the "FLASHERS" for your tow vehicle can handle them. LEDs do not draw the current regular bulbs do. I was informed and believe the old two prong flashes we use to cause the trailer lights to flash if we have to stop by the road (See OZZ box) will not work with LED lights because they will not draw enough current to trip the flasher.
Just a warning to make sure they work with your FULL setup.
Cheers,

Good point John - the vendor does warn that you need a "no-load" flasher if running the LED only lights. I previously installed the incandescent midturn lights that would trigger the flasher, but then I really don't think I have any plans to install these at that price.

I looked at lights for my Dodge and they were running about the same price so they are really proud of them at that price.

You're right Rescue1 - much better price. Good find, thanks!
I kinda like the euro style too.

I replaced the incandescents with LED's on our Cambridge. There is no problem with the flashers. I believe the truck lights draw plenty of current to trip the flashers even on the old electromechanical flasher systems.
