FanTastic Rain Sensor

It's on my dealer fix it list, but has anyone had a problem with the rain sensor closer on the fantastic vent? Let mine go until there was water dripping in, and it still wouldn't close.

We had a problem until Sharon told me to check the bypass switch on the fan. Once I turned that on, it worked fine.

Is that the switch up on the fan itself. I have never trusted it myself either. To those who do trust it how does it work. Do you leave it in auto mode or manual? I seen the switch up near the fan itself and it is set to rainsensing.

Ron,

Ours works great, but I've never trusted it enough to leave it on while we weren't there. So perhaps I don't trust it at all.

Ours is on automatic and works everytime. Even a heavy dew will close it.

Ours works great, and like Glenn, even a heavy dew will close it.

Same. Never had a problem with it failing. At first I was like you and wondered if I could trust it. But it hasn't failed on me yet!!!

We had a problem with ours when it was first delivered. Took the Monty back to the dealer with a laundry list of small issues. The technican took the switch out and turned it around. Apparently it was in backward. Have never had a problem with it since. Like the others, even a heavy dew will cause it to shut. Just make sure to leave the switch on auto.

Mine is located up on the fan itself. on the shroud that goes around the edges of the blades. Look up at the fan and mine has a red and black sticker around a little flat toggle switch. I had to stand on a stool to reach mine as it's up there a ways in my particular model.
