Front leveling Jacks quit

We are on a weeks trip and the front jacks quit today. Worked for a bit this afternoon and then nothing. Switch does nothing now. Any suggestions? Where do I start to try to find the problem?

Dean,
Sorry to hear of the trouble with the front jacks. I assume you know about the manual process to raise and lower the jacks.

MIMF is the person to contact. He can get you fixed up in hurry. If he doesn't post here then do a search and you'll find his contact information.

This has happened to a few folks here on the Forum so has been talked about before. Again a "search" should produce some help for you.

Good luck.

Had the same problem back in May and it was the 30 amp in-line fuse that cman is talking about. It is the old fashioned glass center automotive type (no the new plug in automotive type) mine was inside a white plastic case on the red wire. It happened late on a Friday night so I had to use the hand crank and was amazed how easily I was able to raise my 5er by hand.

Be sure your 12V system is working. We had to clean off the battery connectors just last night.

First thing I would check is the 30 amp fuse. In my rig there was a 15 amp fuse in the line and it blew. When I replaced it with a 30 amp I had no more trouble.

Thanks for the info about the fuse. Wasn't aware of the fuse. Have looked for it but haven't found it yet. Still looking.

Check the wires from the motor. Trace back and you'll come to an in-line fuseholder.

Found the in-line fuse finally. It was on the white wire going to the switch. 30 Amp blown. New 30 Amp fuse installed and everything seems to be working again. Don't know why old fuse blew. Did find a loose connection at the terminal block on the rear wall behind the batteries. Nogt sure if that had anything to do with it or not.

Thanks for all your help pointing me at the in-line fuse which I didn't know ab out. Took me a long time to find it. It was hidden behind the battery covers and I was first tracing the red wire not the white wire. But all is good again. Hope there isn't something going on that will blow the fuse again. Thanks a bunch.

Back home w/o further problems with front jacks or fuse blowing again. Still don't know why the fuse blew to begin with. Maybe the loose connection, that I found, had something to do with it. Guess it's best not to worry about it unless it happens again. Thanks again for all the help directing me to the in-line fuse. Saved me a trip to a dealer.

But did learn to not stop ever again at Camping World in Tacoma, WA on the way home. See new post, different & new problem. @#$%^&.
