Tipping slide out

We have a 2005 2980RL. During A recent freeze I opened all the slides for a weekend out. When the bedroom slide started to open the top portion did not move but the bottom went out about a foot or so before I realized it. I moved it partway back in and pushed on the top until the frozen seal broke away from the side and it opened.

Now every time I open it the bottom starts out first and then with a little push the top follows. When all the way out it seals nice.

Does any one know if there are two or four bolts holding the slide out to the rails so it will not tip. I am wondering if I sheared off two bolts or is this normal? The underside is covered so I can not look and see with out removing the cover. Didn't want to do that unless I have to.

Thanks for any help,
Dick Driver

Dick,

There is an easier way.

Take the mattress off the bed. Then remove the two plywood sheets that support the mattress. The system will be completely exposed. You will be able to see where the base is bolted to the floor and where the yoke is bolted to the bottom edge of the room.

I don't recall if there is 4 or 6 bolts that go thru the yoke into the room.

Call if you need more help. I'll dig up the prints.

Thanks Dale, I should have thought of that, glad you posted before I tried to remove the out side underlayment of the slider. I wanted to do what you suggested some day to see how it all works now I have to.

Thanks again,
Dick

PS. Thanks to the other for your help.
