Awfully cold in here. The furnace is turned on but is not getting the signal from the remote. Batterys are good. We do not get a beep and can not even turn the furnace off. Any suggestions?

I guess that I would check the fuse (15 Amp) next. Good luck hope you get it fixed. Larry & LaVonne

We had this problem, come to find out we were out of propane. The fan ran and we couldn't get it to shut off either. Once Paul went and got the propane everything worked just like it was suppose to...Hate that when it happens! Good luck!

Helen:
You might try pulling the fuse out (perhaps re-setting something in the controller by doing so) and then re-inserting it.

Thanks guys. We tried the furnace fuse first thing. Nothing happened. Finally pulled the fuse marked air conditioner and one marked ods? , reinserted and bravo, WE HAVE HEAT. Go figure.
Bill here.. when I pulled other fuses I realized the red LED under the fuse would light. I again pulled the furnace fuse and no red led. I pulled the ac and ods fuses, who knows why, and the LED's would light. I don't know what sequence the fuses where pulled but when I put the fuse back in the furnace turned on. Anyone know why the furnace LED did not light when the fuse was pulled??

Glad all is well now. The other morning a crazy thing happened. The green and red lights were on but the unit would not respond to the remote. Cold as can be. For some thing to try after all else failed I turned off the battery and back on. Presto all is well. May have had the same effect as pulling fuses.

See you guys this afternoon.

By pulling the fuses you have either reset the furnace or the thermostat. We do not have the remote thermostat but when the 12 volt system gets low I have to turn the thermostat off then back on to get it reset to work again. Glad you got yours going again.

So glad our new 3400 will NOT have the remote thermostat!

Some of the a/c-heat units have a reset button or procedure. If you have a manual, you may want to look there, now that the Crisis is over. I have 2 buttons on the bottom of my unit. Sometimes just opening the remote and turning the batteries, assuming you have AA's will help. There're a lot of "No Work" Gremlins in our rigs.

Hope it keeps going for you.

We had an interesting thing happen concerning our furnace a couple years ago. The fan would come on but the furnace just wouldn't light. I checked everything and everything seemed to be okay. So, I called and RV doctor who came out, turned the furnace on and it lit! Cost me $50 for the service call. But I learned something. He said if it ever does that again, just tap it with a hammer (same as kicking a computer) and then turn it on. Well, it happened the other day. Furnace wouldn't come on so I hit it with a hammer a couple times and voila! it lit. The RV doctor said that the air flow switch that allows the gas to come on sometimes sticks because of dust accumulation. When the furnace is tapped with a hammer, it vibrates the dust off and the switch works.

Worked for me!

We also had a problem with our furnace starting when we were boondocking in Canada. Our battery cables had corroded just enough that the 12V system hadn't gotten charged. Thank goodness we had a generator. It happened on our coldest night on the entire trip, of course.

No Dave, we've only had to do it the one time. It reminds me of my electronic technician days in the Air Force. If it didn't work just hit it on the side and it worked!
