awning motor

I have a 2017 3160rl and need the main awning motor. My awning will not go out.I called Dometic they say need model number. But it's on awning tube you can find it when it's rolled out. Is there any way to find out what part number is for motor so I can get new motor and fix it in one shot?? Thanks for the help.

That awning part number is usually on the outer/moveable front arm as well and may be a bit easier to access with some disassembly plus the motor is there too.

Hmmm, maybe I should record ours as well - ya never know

Didn't you get a sheet that lists part and serial numbers on ac's, etc when you bought it? On myv2013, it lists the dometic awning as 916GU16001B as the model number. Documentation i have for mine does not give a part number for the motor, but i would bet you could find it on the internet by searching for dometic awning motor and an rv repair shop should be able to tell you what the motor part number,is.

You can access the motor wiring from the top of the forward arm. There is a connector there that allows for troubleshooting of power issues, so you can supply 12vdc directly to the motor to see if you can run the motor in or out. Have you checked to make sure the fuse is good? You can also make sure you are getting 12vdc up there by metering the two wires at that connector.

All power is good for sure it's the motor.Would like to remove it and put new motor in without trying to get serial number. In paper work only saw model number.
