Owners manual!

Any utube video's or DVD's for Montana owner's? The owner's manual is generic and useless!

practice and mistakes seem to be the best. And of course, asking questions of these good people on this site will get you better results

We have made such big mistakes that we haven't used the RV. We had a travel trailer prior to our Montana so we aren't complete novice's. Like, hooking up city water to black tank flush and getting the toilet water in RV. A few more dozy's too! We having taken it back to camping world twice for our, "operator error's' and we won't go beck there due to poor treatment. I should have filmed the quick review of systems when we bought it. Just hoped it would get easier!!

I don't know what year or model that you have but maybe someone here with the same model can get you straightened out. That would go a long way in getting you to enjoy your 5th wheel. Every one here has made some doozys so never be afraid to ask. I have had ours for 10 years now and just 2 months ago I pulled out of the campground with it still plugged in to the service box. That just cost me $75 for a new trailer connector. We are all still learning. A lot of members here use a detailed check list when setting up and breaking down, I better start one myself.

For dealers, time is revenue, many have little patience for those who waste their time, regardless of reason. Of course, they often waste our time without apology.

To this point Keystone only has a limited number of videos on issues such as the electrical system and winterizing on their website here: http://www.keystonerv.com/customer-service

It would be nice if they would print a more detailed manual.
I have been trying out how to turn on the lights by the swivel chairs for a while. I have a switch by the dining table what does it do? 2003 Montana.

It would help to know what year or model you have then maybe someone that has, or had one can help you

Without that information it makes it very hard to address your problem

You could always ask another fifth wheel owner in the park where you are to give you some education on your rv. Tell them you are new owners and need a guiding hand. And if they are also montana owners, it makes it easier for both parties. And, yes, you can ask lots of questions on the forum about fifth wheels in general or about things that may be different about your model. If you say you are new and trying to learn, nobody will think anything other than it is good to see someone trying to learn. We all started with limited knowledge and slowly gained it. Sometimes, it was painful. John

I have found some really good videos on You Tube about different things. You might find some good topics. The Owners Manual that comes with the Montana are really generic. I had a Heartland before the Montana and it had a real generic Owners Manual also. It was better than the Keystone manual. It is really sad that the manufacture can't do a better job on the owners manual.

We also found the manual too generic. How hard would it be for Keystone to make a few videos to hand out to new buyers to show basic information on how to do things. I know there are many models but when you buy they go through things too fast or not at all. Glad there is this site. I am sure we will be using it allot.

I sent you a pm. (private message) to answer your questions. Same year different model so fixtures should be the same. I can repost here if there is an interest.

Well folks, I worked for Forest River for 6 years as a service and warranty rep for both the Cherokee and Cedar Creek divisions. I would receive calls constantly from retail customers like us wanting a better owners manual. They do not exist! It would be practically impossible due to the constant vendor and material changes. That is why there should be a manual for all of the different components and appliances that where used to assemble your unit in the big thick packet that came with your unit. Go thru it. Make sure everything is in the packet. If you think something is missing, don't hesitate to contact Keystone retail relations. They should be able to send that to you with little trouble. They may also direct you to the manufacturer of that component to obtain the manual you need.

X2 for sure. Actually if Keystone slipped a little paper in with a new units packet explaining how to find this site, they would probably have fewer unhappy new customers.
