KEYSTONE QUALITY

OK, I know a few of us have had a few quality issues with our rigs in the past. But after watching this new video by Keystone, I feel better. And I know it's true because I saw it on the internet!!

I would love to talk to one of those inspectors. I just got through reinstalling my refrigerator which started falling forward, they fail to screw down the top portion in the back.
The whole facia board above the refrig come off,no glue just long staples which of course failed. The molding all through the trailer is starting to come lose and the ceiling paper is bubbling.
I could go on and on but I just have to accept it for what it is!

I've personally seen rigs at the end of the line with tons of red lines on them indicating corrective action. My question was then and is now, how do they fix what they've already covered up? Didn't get a straight answer then and don't have one now.

Same here DQDick. Same question, same result. The lady in the video did not look like she would fit in the underbelly to check on the wiring and the holding tanks.

Imagine what our rigs would be like without this level of concern for quality?

The problem with Keystone's Quality control it is done after the unit if put together. True quality control should be done at each station. If you do not see how the units are put together you do not know what lies underneath. Why this is not done. Because it will slow production but it will ensure better systems out the door.

Yep that is EXACTLY the problem Jay Bird, most of the car companies(if not all) have followed the Toyota"Kaizen" continuous improvement process which among other things gives each Employee the power at each station to hit the "STOP" button and they fix the problem right there and then, even at my company I use to work Kaizen was drilled into our heads Every employee if they came upon a problem could stop the production line NOW and we would call a Lead or a Supervisor and fix it right there

Boy I wish they had this type of inspection on all of the vehicles we had in the Military then they wouldn’t need anyone to fix the perfect vehicle

Well I will be nice with my reply. Either they ran out of red tape or were wearing really dark sunglasses during the time that it was being assembled and inspected. My unit must have also been one of the ones that was not double checked. I really wish I was able to do the factory tour. All in all we still like our 3160 we are just dissapointed with the lack of fit and finish for a supposedly top of the line fifth-wheel. One of my personal favorites was the big chip in the shower floor. If you dropped a shower door during installation you would think you would notice the large chunk of floor missing. I guess I will look at it another way. Maybe it fell of during transport and the dealer just put the door back in place not noticing the gouge in the floor.
I have to say something positive so I will say at this time I have not noticed any roof leaks

I was only speaking to my 2015 which had many problems that only started up after 30 days, and never experienced in our first three Montana units. When a refrigerator fails because it was installed with the cooling unit packing material not removed, there is no QA/QC, no training, no concern for quality. Won't repeat the rest of the crap found and previously posted. HOWEVER, Keystone and my dealer fixed everything and as of this posting, our 2015 operates perfectly, no flaws, no problems. We are happy with the rig and hope you are with yours as well.
