Floors cracking
I have a 2955RL 2005 unit. I just came back from Florida and noticed that the floors in the kitchen and living room area are making a cracking noise when people are walking over them. Is there a solution to this without removing the vinyl on top. I will attempt to remove the under layer of the trailer to see if I can stop this cracking noise which is anoying. If anyone can help or encountered the same problem and repaired it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Our '04 2955 had creaking floors but only when the trailer was not sitting level. Level front to rear didn't seem to be as critical but side to side was. Seems it twisted the frame just enough to cause the creaking. Once it was level the noise stopped.
Be sure you are sitting level before starting any other solution posted.

I have the 3400RL and my creaking floors are in the living area. I told my favorite technician about it the last time it was in for service and he said he fixed it. Well, it lasted for just a little while so it will go in again for a fix. One problem is the type of wood they use, particle board or some other cheap grade of plywood. Not a very good grade of wood for flooring, for sure. Heaving forbid if it gets real wet.

Thanks for all the info, but I was looking to see if anyone actually did work on the unit itself.

Actually, I thought the wood in the floor was decent. If I remember correctly it has a 25 yr warranty and Montana uses one large sheet rather than several like SOB. However, we do have one area that creaks for whatever reason. As far as the cracking noise it sounds like the vinyl has come loose from the glue. If so the fix isn't easy

dige,
My 2955rl does have creaks in it as well. Actually I can feel the floor give just a slight bit near the vent in the floor...front of sofa. I think I checked the flooring once when I had the underlayer down and I was not able to fix it.
As Glenn mentioned it can be better if the 5er is completely level.
Good luck!

I have the problem of the floor sagging and you can see a low spot between the by the island floor register and the stairs.
We are looking at doing something with the floor, how would you strengthen up that area as it is where the floor heat runs??
