Jensen In-Command

Hi all! In scouring the internet for every crumb of info as I wait for delivery of my new rig I stumbled across this Keystone blog and am wondering if any of you have it in yours and tried it? Thoughts or insights?

I downloaded the app on my iPad and it looks just as advertised

Don't have it in our '10 obviously. The sales info sounds like it's better than sliced bread, but I'd suggest you check all the misc. posts about the old LCI remote. Ours has been fine for us (except when I loose it!), but others have had mixed results. I'd be certain there are manual (or touch) switches for everything somewhere else as well though.

Well, good luck with this one. I know different manufacturers are going to this and other similar systems...but not sure how well they will be in reliability. No switches in your rig and only this system. Ummmm, could be good or evil. good luck. John

Cost? Is it an add on and if so, for what year(s)?
Anyone out there own one? Experiences?

So, my rig (and I believe this would apply to all) comes with all of the normal switches and that the In-Command is an "in addition to" and not a replacement of those normal switches.

Looks like it all new will come equipped with it, not a optional add on so the cost will be buried in the sale price. I am told that I will get the standard remote as well and It looked like a single board where everything was wired to so I'll bet any repairs will = replace...? Will quiz the dealer on Saturday.

I also tend to lose remotes but if I lose the iPhone or iPad I borrow my wife's phone and call it.

It seems that the trend is to continue to add "high-tech" features to dazzle potential buyers. It's sad that RV manufacturers would rather add these features rather than using a really good tire, good suspension, tanks that don't fall out, etc..... I guess as long as we keep buying them that way, they will continue to build them and add more flashy gadgets to make us forget about the components that REALLY matter!!!!

The Keystone in command system was demonstrated to the attendees of the Fall Rally in Goshen in September during the factory tour. If you follow the link in the original posting the video really details what the APP based system does. It also talks color coded wiring that is a big change for Keystone and the RV industry. All in all a great addition to Keystone products.

Tech services when you need it are really only a geek squad away or any friend that happens to be I.T. knowledgable. Assembly line workers aren't going to understand these things and are going to build in varying quality or lack of quality from unit to unit. Dealers aren't going to staff for things like this...but they can always bring in the kid of one of their employees to figure it out for them. My take on it...if you get it in a new unit, learn it or decay! John

I have a 2014 3582RL, my dealer told me that they discontinued the remote control in 2014 models. Does anybody have a 2014 model with the remote control??
