It is just two hose reels and a extension cord reel from Home Depot. I mounted them in the front storage compartment on the back wall. The hose and cable just feed off the bottom and they actually work good. I have a 30 amp cable and a 50 amp cable both on the one reel.
I may change and add a hole with grommet or roller so they feed from underneath. I had the extra reel laying around and thought it might work and it does.

It is made here in Canada. Here is a link to the mfg. http://www.ames.com/reeleasywallmoun.html
I would recommend the one with the hose guide as it makes it work much easier.

Neat for storage, but you might not want to run your power with the cable wrapped around one of those as the cable can get hot - very hot when it's wound in a coil and has power running through it. The problem is without adquate air circulation, the wire doesn't expel heat properly. As it heats up, the resistance of the wire increases, causing it to get hotter. Can you see a run away cycle here?

This only used for storage when not in use, same as the water hose. Yes I agree with the possibilities of problems if used when coiled. I am not sure how it could even be used when coiled as it is in the wrong location for that.
It is only meant as a handy way to wind them up and be out of the way and then very easy to unwind and put to use.

Not sure what your idea of cool down is but here it is in the mid 60's and works good, cant say anything about near freezing but it is a consideration.

DO you think the reels could work mounted horizontally? I'm thinking under the Monty, behind the spare tire. Hard to keep clean, but they lay on the ground in use anyway.

Maybe you could build a sheet metal box around them to keep them clean from road grime.

Dave,
I'd be afraid of them coming loose while traveling and dragging them down the road.

I would be concerned about them coming apart too. I had thought about that too.

Grampachet, thanks for the great idea of using the hose reel. I called around and couldn't find the Ames brand. I did find an alternative brand, Su Cast, at WalMart for $20.97. It's also all plastic so it's lightweight. Here is the link of what it looks like.
