In the RGV, 6" PVC behind front legs...
Information for anyone in the RGV contemplating installing an 8'X 6" PVC tube for storage behind the front landing legs.
After driving around to several lumber and plumbing supply places we found that Morrison's plumbing supply in McAllen on 23rd street south of FM495 (1 mile rd)on the west side carries the 6" stuff. I didn't realize this stuff would be hard to locate.
Total cost for the project was $75.00, includes a 10' tube, and screw on caps for both ends. The fittings were the most expensive part. Had the sales guy cut the tube to 7'6".
Mounted with metal straps fastened with self tapping screws, and a bolt with large washer through the top to the I beams.
Looks good and will accomodate my sewer hoses, folding ladder, or fishing poles, haven't decided which yet.

Glen added these to our trailer and we found it to be a very useful project. We have mostly fishing poles in the second tube. These larger sizes are usually only found at a plumbing supply, based on our experience.

I installed two of them after seeing Glens at the Reno rally. I keep a outdoor carpet in one and fishing gear in the other. I mounted them with 6" furnace flue brackets which worked great and even looks nice.

I have been looking for someplace to carry my golf bag. Are there 12 or 13" tubes and where could I get them?

I mounted 4 of them on unistrut and used pipe clamps. I store 2 sewer hoses, 6 ft. ladder and my tripod in them. Clears up a lot of space for other stuff.

CW carries them. I bought a 6' version, wish I had opted for the 7' size. They collapse down to easily fit in the 6" tube.

We have the one from CW and love it. Since we have been doing a lot of stuff to the stick house and Monty is parked beside the house, Ed has used it in the stick house as it is stronger than his old wooden step ladder. Folds really small.
Happy trails............................

If you use 5 inch db conduit the ladder will fit perfect. I take the pads off the tripod and slip the tripod in the pipe then slide the pads in seperate, use pins instead of bolts to fasten them on and off. Also have half pieces of conduit slipped in the pipe I keep my sewer hoses in, just in case I need to hold sewer hose off of ground to get higher elevation.
