I replaced mine with the 360 a long time ago. They haven't deteriorated in the sun and seem to work well.

Same here, I only installed the cyclone on one of the 3 vent on the roof which is the black tank, I’ve order two more for the from Amazon, I installed the a little different then the instructions suggested. I did not remove the base from the regular vent, only removed the cover on top. There is about 2” of pipe above the base which is enough to attach and seal the cyclone vent to and seal.

How did you attach it to the vent pipe?

So you have to remove the old base and associated caulking, screw the new base down to roof deck and re- caulk the base? Or does the old base remain attached to the roof and you simply pull the old cap off and push the new cap on?

I did not remove the old base, just removed the top mushroom cap. I did not see the point in removing the old base and caulk being it was still in good shape.

Although the vent improvements might help, for smells, let’s tackle the problem at the source.

We use the Happy Camper every time after we flush the black tank. It improves the breakdown and significantly reduces the odors imho. And prior to traveling, we dump, flush well with a high power garden hose down the toilet to break up any pyramids until the effluent is clear, then fill 1/4 to 1/3 with fresh water and let that slosh around during the trip.

For the gray tanks, prior to traveling we fill 1/4 to 1/3 with fresh water and add some cascade dishwasher detergent, which helps break down the greases and soap scums, and also smells nice. When we arrive at our destination, we dump the black, then dump the grays. Finally a few gallons of fresh in the black along with the happy camper, and all is well for the next week!

We flush our tank every dump and use pods. It's at the dealership right now. That's one of the items on the repair list. The root of the problem is what I'm after! There should only be three places that smell should be able to escape. The toilet, roof vent and drain. You shouldn't get a smell when flushing coming from the basement utility area!

Happy camper is your friend, we’ve been using it for 5 years. If your getting smell in your basement could be an issue with a vent connection
