Anderson Levelers

Since I don't have automatic levelers I was looking at Anderson Levelers to help with the chore of leveling up. There was a thread about them in 2015 but I was wondering because I have Sailun S637 235/85R16 tires how this would affect getting the levelers in between the two tires. I know that you can cut some off the ends to help if they are to tight ,but I was thinking if you had to cut some off this would affect the ability of leveling at a low height.

So I'm looking for input from people are using them, or have in the past, on how they worked and if you had to cut to make them fit.

We have them, and what they excel at is fine tuning your side to side leveling. If there is a big difference, then you need boards and use the Anderson Levelers to fine tune. Sometimes one board is not enough, but two is too much. This is where the Anderson Levelers come in.

We were unable to use them with our last trailer because the tires were too close together and they did not fit between the tires. That is not the problem with our Monty. We recently changed to the Sailun S637 tires.

I hope this helps.

I had them on my previous Montana and they worked great. My buddy has them now on his SOB and they’re still going strong 4 years later. I did cut an inch off one for clearance and didn’t hinder their ability to level at all.

Loneoak. Thanks for the reply and photo. I see you have a wide gap in between your tires where I have only two and a half inches and that is why I'm concerned.

Do by any chance remember how close your tires were together?

No, but they were close enough at the bottom that they were really tight to get the one in between the tires. I trimmed an inch off with a saw, and beveled the edge with a grinder and they worked great. Still work great on my buddy’s camper. He’s sitting on them now.

Well I went ahead and bought the Anderson Levelers and am extremely pleased. They fit in between the tires with no problems and it really does make leveling easy.

Had them for my last trailer,a 3000RK and love them, have since passed them on to a friend. I'm sure you could trim one with no problem.

Mine fit in between the tires without any trimming which I'm happy about. I really do like the ease of using the levelers in comparison to boards or blocks. With the Anderson's I just back up until the trailer is level, put the stops in and the job is done. Should of had these years ago.

I've got similar ones -- but they're the leveling wedges made by Beech Lane.

There are much easier to use than the Lego blocks because you adjust height by moving forward or backward on them instead of having to pull all the way off the Legos and add/subtract blocks.

HOWEVER, there is a caveat. With Lego blocks you can drive off the blocks as far as you want. But with these, you can't... Yeah, I found out the hard way. I was out by myself and pulled forward to get off the levelers. Felt resistance and went back and this is what I saw. So while leveling the rig with the wedges is much easier, when it's time to remove them, with our double axle trailers, you can only pull up or back just enough to get off of them and then you have to remove the one between the tires or it'll get wedged in like mine did.

Lesson learned. Now I know.
