what is the wire behind this?

so busy weekend. new mud flaps and install the upfitter kit for 2013 f250 sd. what a pain that was. in the process of doing this and pulling panels off i ran into a wire connection behind this picture and it is just pushed into a holding slot and not connected to any thing. does anyone have an idea what it is or does anyone have something different in its place then i do when i bought the truck. has to be to an add on but can't find any info anywhere. thanks it is the space below the 12v plug.

Looks to me to be an auxiliary 12V plug. With the Dodge they actually hook them up.... Just joking, but that would be my guess, why it is not connected is anyone's guess.

I assume you have no power to this plug and it does look like a cigarette lighter plug when you lower the flap.

On our unit it is another 12 volt outlet.

I am not clear on what panel you pulled off to find a wire. Do you mean a loose wire behind one of the black panels? My truck has the same panels but I have never pulled one to look behind them.

Cigarette lighter sounds most likely right. Going to put a meter on it to see if live with truck on and use it for cb radio I am going to install

Do you have the built in OEM brake controller? On my 2012 F150 that storage cup was removed and the Factory brake controller fit there.
