THETFORD TOILET

We have a Thetford Aqua-Magic Style Plus with the side pedal. The water drips and/or lightly runs into the bowl sporaticly & eventually fills the bowl. It would overflow if not watched.
I've sprayed silicone lube on the workings as best I can but the pedal seems to hang-up more than ever. The ball closes on the seal all the way so I think the problem is in the valve.
Any solutions as to how I can stop the dripping.
Also, how does the pedal come off the side of the toilet ?? Must I take the toilet off the floor mounts ??

Thanks for the help.

ALOT of us had had a problem with that toilet, my pedal stuck then overflowed luckily I caught it before it did much damage then the pedal got so messed up it finally broke off,I tried to fix it( there is a tab on the back of the pedal and it pops off) but the spring broke AND the tab that the spring mounts on was broke as well, Keystone sent me a new toilet on Warranty have not had any problems since but I do sometimes lube the ball and valve with cooking oil AND spray lube behind the pedal on the spring, some people have just changed to a Dometic Toilet

We are one of those that tossed the Thetford Aqua-Magic toilet and installed a Dometic. We have friends that had a toilet in their MH fail, and caused many thousands of dollars in damage. We decided that the small cost, about $200 for a new Dometic 310, was cheap insurance, and it only took maybe 30 minutes to replace. We were lucky that the water supply line made up to the new toilet without modification.

As BigSkyJimmy said, you might try spraying silicon on the petal mechanism. That's worked for some.
