Distribution Panel

In the distribution panel where all the fuses are, there is is a green light that is flashing. Is this normal or should the green light just be constant on. The reason I am asking is that we have been experiencing browning/dimming lights and lately when plugging in there is a delay when the microwave shows that is on.

Thanks,
Bill C

The green light on your distribution panel is the charge indicator for the converter, it changes the rate it blinks depending on the charge rate to the batteries. If I remember correctly slow rate indicates about 13.4 V, faster 13.8 V and solid on is the highest rate and only occurs for a short period of time to condition the batteries.

The Microwave is 110V only and the display should blink as soon as it receives power, perhaps a problem at the pedestal or the breaker panels main breakers or your supply cable ends. Also check your batteries condition, water level, connections etc.

If you have a Progressive Industries EMS it has a built-in delay before allowing 110V to items that use it. The display has a small blinking light during this process that goes out after power is allowed.

Thanks for the advice. I do have a portable EMS, so that should take care of that annoyance. Now, to figure out the dimming lights, the battery says fully charged and it has plenty of water. My Montana is now 2 1/2 years old., probably time to get the battery checked.

My 12 volt lights dim at times also. This is caused by the charger as it changes charging rates. Lights brightest/high charge rate, lights dimmest/lowest charge rate. All normal operation and let's you know the charger is cycling as it should. To avoid the light dimming issue install LED bulbs from Michael and Kat. Built in voltage regulators maintain constant light output.

I ususally get around 5 years on any battery ... I finally had to get a new Interstate battery for my boat ... bought it new in 05. I think it's all on how you maintain them and what type of charger you use. The boat battery was an exception to anyones rule though.
Ed had your flashing greem light answer.

I would pull the battery and have it checked. In my last two rigs I put new interstates in as soon as I bought them and sold the OEM battery on craigs list.

My OEM battery lasted nearly 6 yrs. Replaced it last spring when the slides starting moving a little slower. We use the trailer 25-30 nights per year and it is always plugged in when in storage and water checked regularly.
