Popping

I have level up system. My jacks have started popping and letting side lean. Anybody else had that problem?

we have heard that popping and have no idea what it is. It has not caused the camper to lose level, nothing leaks. Have that question on my list for the fall rally.

Ours would do it all the time in the first 4 months we owned it now we don't hear a peep out of it, air in the system that bleed itself out ???? don't know but all good now

No leaning but popping. Like Rich, hope the 'techies at the Fall Rally could figure it out.

We had some popping this winter. System was newly installed and we were on the side of a hill. no lean, however in fact the door side wheels spent the winter up in the air. I re-leveled it a couple of times and eventually it stopped popping and hasn't since. I'm also looking forward to what Lippert says at the Rally.

We had popping the first time out when temperatures dropped at night.

Since then no problems. We also put wood under each footing which I heard helps stop the slight foot movement if on gravel or asphalt.

Our Montana was on the level up for 6 months this winter in Florida and did not lose the level at all. I was impressed. It did pop from time to time.

Found this post just the other day but don't know if it works.

Lippert has finally offered a user fix for temperature related popping in their hydraulic four point and six point auto leveling systems used on many fifth wheel trailers. They determined the noise was caused by high stiction (static friction) in the hydraulic cylinders. Changing out a quart of hydraulic fluid for a quart of Torco RFF 15 ( 15 weight racing fork fluid) significantly reduces stiction and thereby greatly reduces the popping and jolting that many rv owners have felt. There is a recommended procedure to follow, and 10 wt fluid may also be used in cooler climates.

Google " lippert level up popping"

No popping or leaning on ours. I also put wood blocks (2 x 10 x 12) under each foot and it seems to help with stability.

Not that we wouldn't do that. Just not on a serious subject. That's why I like this forum over some of the others out there.

I learned about firing line and tail light fluid a long time ago. I never heard of a high speed fork lift

Our rig setting on concrete pad popped in Florida during February and March, but never lost level. Our LevelUp would pop at night as the temperature dropped. Traveled for 6 weeks to CA and AZ in May and June and had no popping, but was not on concrete pads. Makes me think maybe bigskyjimmy has this thing figured out, and believe Webefulltime may have found a workable solution. Will be interested in hearing about this during the Fall Rally.

Here is the link to Lippert's bulletin on what to use to stop the "popping" on a Level-Up system. It definitely seems worth a try.

my wife always hears noises that I can't hear. finally I heard this popping noise too. I had been noticing the unit would get out of level after we had been at a site for more than couple of weeks. The front end would drop 3/16 about every two days. After tracking or following the noise by feeling parts of the trailer body etc. I realized it was the leveling system. Thought I might have a leaking solenoid valve. After reading these post I'll try the Anti-Stiction Fluid.
Has anyone added the fluid and had positive results?

Carl thanks for posting this information. DW has been complaining about the popping sound since we got the Monte last year. The fork oil is available on Amazon and I will get it on the way here.
