Replacing black water dump valve seals

My blackwater tank has a minor leak issue. I tried to replace them and found that the plumbing is all tied together and hard to seperate to remove handle mechanism. The fear is, if I spread the connection to far, I may burst the blackwater tank or break the drop pipe between the gray and black water tanks. Called Keystone and dealers with no good suggestions. Any help would be welcomed.

That can happen!
That type of job may be best left for a professional. I know when they are butted up against a why between the two tanks it gets to be a major undertaking. I tried to tackle a similar job once and I ended up with a busted tank. It wasn’t a pretty outcome. I had to take it in and have it serviced anyway. So be careful!

I put on one of these guys.

To stop any suprises when I remove the cap to the dump connection. The remote valves, from what I have read, and from my experience, seem to always allow some stuff to seep past them, or maybee because there is some stuff left in the plumbing after I dump. Either way I put that twist on valve on the end and no more suprises!

Thank you for the responces. Someone suggested cutting the pipe between the valve and blackwater tank Then use a rubber pipe coupling with a coupling strap at each end. By cutting the pipe there, you can remove the pipe piece and valve together. Remember to cut back the black pipe piece about 1/4" to allow for the middle stop inside the coupling. It may just be toilet paper piece that got lodged in valve. An easy fix.
I also, cut the floor board in the underbelly storage above the valves instead of removing the underbelly panels. The gas lines are against the panel. This allows you to work standing up instead of lying down reaching up and maybe getting wet. Screw a couple of pices of wood across under floor board to hold the pieces you cut out in place. Now you have access for the next time. I love this forum for answers.
