I can't remember if I ask this or not

How can Keystone (Craig Grouchy) allow the dealer only 3 1/2 hours to take out, repair, and reinstall the slide when they allow 2 hours to fix a day/night shade. This is what they allowed to repair the rear shade in my trailer. They still didn't repair it, they had to do it up here at gardners but doesn't that seem strange???

Kathi, This is what I remember, from our trip to the Service Center, I may not remember it correctly.

They told me if it took them, say 2 hours to do a specified repair, that they would allow the dealer, maybe 1.5 to 2 times that amount of time. Theory was explained to me that they did so many more of the repairs at the Service Center that the guys got really good at it, so they allowed that the dealers did not have as much practice or experience and allowed more time.

However, having seen the slides come out, if the repair facility KNOWS what they are doing, and if all they have to do is replace that black stuff, and put the slide back in, they probably could do that in 3.5 hours. If they have the right equipment, it does not take long to get those slides out, it is quite amazing to watch.

Someone was pushing it to get 2 hours to replace a day/night shade. From what we have seen. That said, we are still trying to adjust some of those blasted things so they hang straight! SIGHHHH

I think it all comes down to how much experience a crew/or repair tech might have. Day/night shades are not exclusive to Montana, so to take 2 hours to do that replacement is kinda befuddling.

Say the words "warranty" and "repairs" to me and I turn funny shades of green. My heart goes out to you.

Try to practice that "reduce stress" stuff. Hard to do, but try, OK????

Kathi, the repair shop at our dealer said our unit would be there two weeks. Guess they arn't going to rush.

With Mike Thompson's I could plan on 1 to 1 1/2 months that my Monty would be there. Up here at Gardner's they have already done 3/4 of the things that needed to be done. It has only been in there since Monday. They are waiting on the CCC unit and the ok to fix the roof and the slide. Everything else that Mike Thompson's was suppose to fix has been done...That is what baffles me...

From what I've heard about Mike Thompson's they aren't the best service dept in the field. (notice I didn't say anything bad, just that they were not the best) LOL. We will not use them.
Happy trails.....................

Kathi, it looks as if your penguins have a hitch in their giddy-up.

Just think of the one hitting the water as your "favorite" service manager, and you're the one giving him the "assist" as he unsuspectingly walks by... I can see the smile on your face now...

That penguin thingy grows on you. The more I watch it, the funnier it gets.

That's OK, Kathi. I've heard it said, "You don't drown by falling into water. You drown by not getting back up out of it..."

I like the fact that the penguins have slowed down, the slap looks less violent and the fall looks more comfortable.
