You've Got to be Kidding
Mountaineer is two years old. Went to close the rear lounge window covering shades and the whole thing came down on us. Checked it out and determined only two screws held up the shade. Well we removed the headboard valance and put about three extra screws in the top bar of the shade. I know you need some freedom across the top for the strings to work properly, but you don't need the shade to dump on you every year or two. Fortunately, no real damage to the shade.

You did somewhat better than us, last summer (rig was one year old), daughter went to close the blinds in the front slide over one of the sofas and down they came! She was upset and thought she had "broke it". Dad came to the rescue with the everpresent tool kit complete with a various assortment of wall anchors and screws. Two wall anchors later and good as new. Believe me, after two Montanas and this being a very common repair, I travel prepared.

Happens to the best of us!
We were on our first camping trip with the 3400. I went to adjust the shade on the large window and it pulled loose. We were camping with Bingo & the ladies that weekend. Bingo jumped in and helped us & we got it back up in a secure manner. I think we even used an anchor or two that he furnished. Very handy item indeed! We haven’t had any more trouble with it either. When anything is put together with piece work it’s my opinion that you’re going to get some of that kind of quality. I believe greater care could be taken than what sometimes there appears to be when these things are built!

With our old fifth wheel, pulled into campground and the kitchen lights were swinging back and forth about an inch above the island. Again, just screws into the ceiling. Toggle bolts fixed. Rvs do take a beating on the road, and sloppy installation standards do not help

Same happen to us on the rear window. I have reverted to my "good ole days in helicopters". Never, never leave home without a well equipped "go box" filled with everything you ever thought you might need. Then add to it as you go.
