Final Chapter in the Mission Saga
This morning we contacted Tireco about the Mission failure and told them we were replacing all 5 tires. The tire dealer here is handling the palletizing of the tires for Tireco to pickup. We were wondering somewhat if we were actually doing the right thing having all 5 replaced when only one had failed. When they were dismounted 2 other tires had a bubble inside that was about 2 inches wide and 18 inches long. Another tire had the cap coming off. Would have failed within another mile or so. The only tire that was not damaged was the spare.
Another thing, the Missions were rated at 3580 lbs, very plainly molded into the rim is MAX LOAD 3040 LBS. How about that.
The folks at Tireco were very helpful, now if I just get my money back, regardless we are better off. We went with a BF Goodrich Commercial TA 235-85-16LT load range E that matches the rim load, they are also made in the USA.. Feel better already.
Tomorrow we are back on the road on a northward heading. Safe travels everyone.
