Our Mods
We ordered (direct from Montana dealer):
1. four 265W panels, then they upgraded to 2 Jaboni 100/50 controllers and a larger inverter.
2. outlets that control the recliners served by the inverter (because who can sit and watch TV without your feet up???)
Then aftermarket, we installed (2) 200AHr LifeBlue (with Bluetooth connectivity) Lithium FePO4 batteries (to save space and get the maximum AmpHrs per square foot of space ... LI batteries can be drawn down completely, rather than 50% like deep cycle batteries).
However, our installing tech didn't change the discharge profile for the MPPT controller, and set it to AGM, so the solar panels were collecting energy, the batteries were discharging AmpHrs, and the controller remained in "float". IF you have the wrong battery profile on the MPPT controller, there is a small dial next to the comms plug that you need a jewelers screwdriver to change the setting - there are 7 choices, and Lithium is one of them (AGM another, etc.). We sent an email to Jaboni, and within 2 minutes, Matt (574)527-6573 called me back and diagnosed the problem. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE - Jaboni!!
