Can't remember if I posted a out this but here goes anyway. We almost got bit big time. While I was prepping the rig for our Alaskan trip this summer I was pulling each wheel, checking, cleaning and adjusting brakes and greasing the EZ Lube axles and wet bolts when low and behold I discover that on the right rear we had one missing along with the Correct Trak plates.
Now I know it was there before we left Texas for Quartzsite in January as I did a pre trip check of all areas but I am figuring the wet bolt must have sheared somewhere along the way.
Luckily nothing major happened enroute to Q.
I had to order a new set of Correct Trak plates and since we are making a trip to Alaska I ordered a complete set of wet bolts for all 8 connections along with 4 new shackles (as insurance).
Total cost $150 for the whole set and a out an hour of my time to replace/ fix.
So word to the wise.....put these on your routine to check regularly!
