Furrion backup camera/factory installed
Hello everyone,
Recently purchased a 2016 3711FL and it came equipped with the Furrion back up camera. I have done every step listed in the manual and trouble shooting as well countless times trying to sync the camera with the monitor and had absolutely no luck. Anyone ever experienced a similar problem? Or have some suggestions?
Thanks

I had a bad unit on ours when we picked it up from the dealer. It never would pair up even when in pair mode and hitting the button on the bottom of the camera. If it is a bad one it will have to be replaced. Some other things to check for is how it is wired. You might have to have the tow vehicle in reverse to actually power the camera up. It could also be wired to only come on only if the lights are on. You can try these hints and see if you have any luck.

Thanks Tom. Tried pushing the button on camera, truck in reverse(know I'm getting power there reverse lights come on on trailer), lights on and off, engine on and off, trailer batteries on and off, tried sync 1 and 2, standing on my head, everything. Ha ha. I'm beginning to think it is a bad camera or something is wired up wrong which wouldn't surprise me nowadays.

Al it sounds like a DOA unit to me. The factory installed one would not work on ours either. It is a hassle but swing by the dealer and have them check it out, should be under warrantee. Once mine was replaced it has worked every time with no problems. I hope everything else works great on your new unit. If not start a written list of each and everything so you have a good record for any warrantee work needed.
Enjoy your new fifth-wheel. :-)

Tom thanks again. Unfortunately the dealer I purchased from is 250 miles away. And the dealers in my area leave a lot to be desired to say the least. Think I may try to find out if it was factory installed or dealer installed and try to trace the power line out. May be something as simple as a blown fuse or lack of one. Fingers crossed.

Keystone is/was installing the backup camera from Furrion and then running it on a hot wire. Cameras were not designed for that and they toast. Don't let them replace it with another identical camera without having them wire it to the backup lights or at least a switch. Furrion has an observation camera that is designed for the continuous use and I've read that Keystone is replacing some with that one. Mine went to the dealer today and that is on the list as mine failed days after taking delivery. Search on Furrion and you'll see others with the same issue.

Contact Furion direct and they will probably replace with the camera for continual use. Furion is now part of Lippert.

See the other post regarding bacup camera. Says installed model is only good for 30' and gives model numbers, both wrong and right. John

My back up camera was on all the time and would not work this spring when taken out of storage. Our dealer replaced it under warranty with an observation camera.

I installed mine on a 42' 375FL. I initially had trouble sinking with it mounted wired to the taillights. I brought it down into the truck and got it to sync. Reinstalled it and it has been fine ever since. It is a very good camera compared to others I have had. It has a great angle of view and good display. Hope you get it working.
