Remote Control Battery
Have read in this forum, that it would be wise to carry a spare battery for the remote. What battery does it take, and how do you get to it? I took the little screw out of the back, but it didn't want to come apart. I didn't want to force it too much, because I was afraid of breaking it. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

I second the question. I tried to get my remote apart also and can't do it unless it needs to be really forced. Is there a hidden screw behind the label?
Lippert site does not have a battery listed for the remote.

Yes, there is a very small screw under the label (right in the middle) along with a 2nd short screw on the end. I tried a few small screw drivers before finding one that worked. Had a hard time finding the batteries as well. Turns out they are camera batteries, 23A that I found at WalMart (couldn't get them at Radio Shack.)
Also, once you replace the battery, you have to pair the remote with the receiver. Instructions are right on the receiver above the battery compartment. (I looked all through the stack of manuals before looking on the unit itself).

I didn't have to re-program when I changed my battery.

It's an old post I know but the search feature took me to it when I needed to replace the battery in my trailer's remote. Walmart does have the A23 battery. Go to where they sell digital cameras and you'll find it there. Just popped it in and it worked without having to reset anything.

This site is amazing. Had no idea about the remote but had the front security light on for a week now. Like Pizarro looking for the gold worked Walmart today and found the proper battery and the right size screw driver to open the damn thing (what idiot decided to put the key screw below the label I need to figure out how to work the gadget?) In any case, the light is now off and no reset was required (did not look forward to trying to figure out how to do that).

We also never have had to repair after changing the battery. We got about a year on the battery before we just quit using it all together when we added level up.

I have replaced the battery in my remote once, the newer ones don't have the screw under the label, mine has one at the top and bottom of the back of the unit. Did not have to pair it with the receiver after replacing the battery
.
The A23 battery is very common and is used in some RC applications, several stores locally had them and what used to be Radio Shack up here had a package of two for just over $6.00
Good to have a spare, I use my remote all the time to put the slides in and out, to put the landing gear up and down, it is great, I don't even have to leave the cab of the truck to hook up, can raise and lower from within the cab.
The six point level up does not work off the remote anyway, that is another thing I really like on our Montana.

Once again I should know better than to say anything, but I have over 4 years on my remote battery and so far, still working on original battery...
