TV Antenna Lubrication

While watching my neighbour up on his roof trying to get his TV antenna to unstick I was reminded that this was a maintanance item I often overlook until things get tight. The owners manual suggests a touch of silicon lube to the gears at the base of the riser bars and also removing the plug and giving a shot to the base plate. PS if the signal seems weak check that there is 12 volts comming through the roof to the antenna via the cable. The amplifier is in the head of the antenna!

And,if not lubed, parts will break. (Need you ask how we know this?? SIGHHH )

And, when lubed, they sure go up and back down a lot easier.

Thanks for a great reminder.
