Screen Door Latch
The latch to the screen door is not releasing when the "main" door is closed and we attempt to open from the outside. The main door tries to open but the screen door is not releasing. I am afraid to force open and break the black plastic latch handle. Luckily when this has happened, wife was inside and could open. For now just taped it so the latch stays open so can open main door and screen door. Is there an adjustment to the latch? Thanks,

It is adjustable. Loosening the screws on the handle assembly allows for side to side adjustment. Make sure the rig is level before adjusting. The doors can catch easily when the rig is not level.

Most of the time very small adjustments will do the trick.

Sometimes the screen door handle/latch screws will loosen up over time and the door will stick. Like the others mention, a little adjustment will take care of the problem.

That was simple! Should have spent more time tinkering with it. The bad part is DW said adjust the catch down and was correct! I hate that.

I always take a different tack. DW is always the supervisor, therefore if it is right she gets the credit, and if it is wrong it is the workers fault (that can be interpreted to be me!!!!!)
