Opinion Please....3295RK or 3400RL????
We are buying one or the other. I'm only 5' tall, so the 3295RK has lower cabinets, microwave & over sofa cabinets which I like, but so many of you have the 3400RL which has a nice RL, large rear window, nice kitchen, plus. How do you short people handle the tall cupboards, microwave, etc? Thanks for your imput.

Anita,
Each floor plan has its advantages and disadvantages, but in the end it is only you that can make the decision on which floor plan feels "right" to you. I stand a just over 6' tall and the upper cabinets of the pantry in my 3400RL are a problem even for me. The solution was a small folding stool that is kept in the washer/dryer closet. I do not think you could go wrong with either floor plan... Happy shopping!

Like Dave said, a small step stool and for me a tall husband. I'm 5'3" and can reach half of the shelves. Things we don't use very often go in the upper shelves. The 3400 is a really great floor plan.
Happy trails......................

You will choose the camper that meets your OVER ALL needs. As Dave indicated there are shelves that a NBA player can not reach in all the campers. Most of us no matter how tall we are have a step stool as part of our interior "stuff" I would not let that SINGLE issue be the determining factor in yiunchoice of camper.

I suggest you find both and then spend a few hours in each pretending you are living in it cooking, packing and unpacking to move sites and just relaxing.
I think the 3295 has more counter and kitchen storage space, however, I liked the large living room and picture window too.
Best of luck.

They are both great floor plans with their own pro's and con's. Only you can decide which floor plan best fits your needs. With either floor plan some sort of a step stool is a must and not an option.

I too would do like John has stated above. I think most people are going to be doing more living in it than cooking.

Unless Keystone has changed it's design for the A/C ducts there is one thing in the kitchen area that you should be aware of in the 3295RK. The way the cabinets hang down over the sink has a tendency to trap heat from the stove. The air conditioner duct for this area is on the table side of the cabinets therefore air does not circulate above the stove very well.

Wife (5' 2")loves the kitchen in our 3295. We looked at the 3400 and decided the 3295 fit us better.
BTW, we both use a step stool at times (I am 5-10)

We have the 3400RL and love it alot. I am 5 feet even and Husband is 6'2". If he is around, he gets things down for me, if not I have my handy folding step stool close by and I use it alot. Especially needing it to cook in the Microwave. First and fore most though, only YOU decide on what is best for you. They are both great floor plans but it's what makes YOU HAPPY to be camping in. Good luck and Happy Shopping!!!

I have the 2005 -3380rl and we like it cause when we go to a campsite we try to back up to a view ocean lake or such and can watch tv and see the view., if it's the other way then you are looking at rv on the side of you.
tall cabinets- I am 6 feet and I use a chair.

I love our 3295RK. I am on the shorter side and still use a step ladder to get to the top of the cabinets. Ours is a Big Sky and back then the back of the camper was taller in a Big Sky, so our cabinets are taller too.
I of course have spent a great deal of time in a 3295RK. This past winter I went to Florida with my sister and niece in their 3400RL. I would not buy a 3400RL and find it does not suit my needs. Now Dick would tell you different but he has not really spent any time in one. If I had to make a choice between the two today, I would buy a 3295RK again. If they brought back the 3670RL again, well I'd have a hard time making a choice.
Our 3295RK has so much storage space. I love the kitchen. I seem to be drawn to rear kitchens. My new favorite is the 3585SA that sailer mentions. I think it's a near perfect unit. My only problem with that one is that I want a stackable washer and dryer. If Keystone makes that happen I am afraid I would be bugging Dick big time to get one.
As John mentioned, spending a few hours in each unit and pretending your doing all the things you do in a camper is a good one.
No matter what, if you get a Montana, any Montana you'll be getting a great coach. You're gonna love it. The other great thing is it comes attached to MOC.
Patty

All of the Montana floor plans are great, they manufacture a model to fit just about every-ones needs. My wife and I own a 2005 3295rk we considered a 3400rl but choose the 3295 for several reasons. First is the amount of cabinet space and counter top space and the very open floor plan. I am 5'8" and a fat boy, my wife is 5'9" and we both use a small 3 step step ladder to reach things on the upper shelves but I also need it to pull the lever to unhitch the fifth wheel. The second reason for choosing the 3295 is how usable the coach is when closed. Many times we have stopped at a rest area to have some lunch and just about everything is accessible when the slides are in. The pantry, refrigerator, the end of the counter top, 2 dinette chairs and the table and lastly the couch all without opening a single slide, a big advantage especially in the rain. The final choice though is yours and you will need to decide what coach fits your needs best.

We like the 3400RL because of the RL. It has a great panoramic view out the back and side when backed in a space. Plus the counter is larger than most.
