axle

My husband and son-in-law are going to replace my axle on the 2011 Montana fifth wheel. I am concerned that they say they already know what they need but I would like to know what tools they need. Also thinking af having a backup mobile repair person in case needed. Fifth wheel is in Flagstaff, AZ. So if any of you have suggestions I would appreciate it.

Thank you, Cindy

Ratchet straps, to help align it to get the bolts in.
I replaced a broken leaf spring on the road and had to use a flimsy 1" Ratchet strap to help align it to get the bolts in.
A "come along wench" would have worked better.

I would add new U-bolts to the list.

When I had my axle replaced, they had to weld the mounts onto the axle tube. Same axle can be used for spring under or spring over mount, depending on where the mount is welded.

.

When replacing the axles, this would be an excellent time to replace the springs and other hardware like the wet bolts and maybe the bronze bushings too, and any other worn parts, possibly brake components also.
